CCRA Awardees for 2019 Announced
The CCRA biennial awards recognize individuals who have made a remarkable impact on cancer research and the cancer research community. We are pleased to announce the five 2019 awardees:
- Mr. Patrick Sullivan for Exceptional Leadership in Patient Involvement in Cancer Research
- Dr. Anne-Marie Mes-Masson for Exceptional Leadership in Cancer Research
- Dr. Gerald Batist for Exceptional Leadership in Cancer Research
- Dr. Lincoln Stein for Outstanding Achievements in Cancer Research
- Dr. Geoffrey Fong for Distinguished Service to Cancer Research
The awards will be presented at the Canadian Cancer Research Conference (CCRC) on Monday November 4, 2019 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. For more on awardees, click here.

Today, CCRA released its latest report on the investment in cancer research. It reveals that $491M was invested in cancer research in 2018. Although a slight increase since 2017 (up $17M), the investment has been fairly constant over the past five years.
