Spanning Bench to Behaviour: Webinar
This webinar, “Spanning Bench to Behaviour: Harnessing CPTP data to understand lifestyle risks across the health spectrum,” will provide an overview of the types of data collected through the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project (CPTP) — Canada’s largest population study of 330,000 Canadians in six regional cohorts across the country — and showcase examples of how researchers are using the data and samples to explore how genetics, environment, lifestyle and behaviour interact and contribute to the development of chronic diseases, including cancer.
The webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. EST. The presenter is Dr. Jennifer Vena, who has worked at Alberta’s Tomorrow Project (ATP), the Alberta arm of the CPTP, since 2015 and served as ATP’s Scientific Director since 2017. She also holds adjunct positions at the University of Calgary and University of Alberta, and has a background in diet and disease. She is particularly interested in the role that lifestyle behaviours, such as diet and physical activity, play in disease prevention as well as in treatment and recovery.
